What are the differences between the Theatrical Version and the Director's Cut. This is the only Hopper directed movie I’ve seen and I’ve seen it twice. The acting seems more cartonish and the entire film comes off as a comedy really, and it is indeed funny but not in an intentional way I don't think. This "Backtrack" is actually "Catchfire". The turn Jodie Foster takes in act two makes no sense and then it just gets worse. As in "Dennis Hopper protecting his burrito during a gunfight" everything. I do adore Dennis Hopper and he gives a stellar performance in this fun film but the pacing of the story is a little draggy.

It was about 100 minutes, so despite the title and the Hopper's directorial credit, I presume this was the originally released version which pissed off Hopper and bore the title CATCHFIRE and an Alan Smithee director credit.
